The Federal Reserve and U.S. Treasury are about to conspire with banks to fund the U.S. deficit. We’re going to see lower rates later this year, less quantitative tightening, but that’s just the start.
The Federal Reserve is about to right some wonky rules that allow banks to buy U.S. Treasuries with no risk to their short-term balance sheets and with great leverage. That leverage will be stimulative, until of course, it leads to a bubblicious crash.
